I have the same question, however your answer doesn’t work for me.
When I replace line 134 in /functions/shortcodes/general.php
which originally states:
$mediatype=”image”,
and replace it with:
$title=$imageTitle,
I still don’t get any titles displaying when I create a shortcode gallery
eg by using [thumbnails pageid="187" type="medium"] shortcode on a page.
What have I done wrong?
