Changing target email won’t actually affect the sending of emails. It’s most likely a coincidence or the prev mail was filtering them.

Sending mail depends on server configuration. Currently theme mail function uses WordPress mailer function.

I can check your how the settings affect if you forward wp login info. I’ll need to check the settings.
